Weigh In – 21st September

The Stats

Starting Weight: 57.7kg

Today’s weight: 54.0kg

Weight lost since last weigh in: 0kg

Total Weight lost: 3.7kg

I didn’t lose a gram this week. Nothing, nada, zilch. I’ve stayed exactly the same. Funnily enough I’m not going to get upset and miserable about it this week. I’m not even that worried. I’m resigned to the fact that I’m in a serious plateau and at some point I’ll get out of it and the weight loss will take off again. Well that’s my theory and as I’ve got nothing else to keep me going that will have to do. Next week the goal is to see a 53. Even if I lose only 100 grams – fine, just show me that 53!!

Cruise Day 25 – PP

Breakfast: Scrambled eggs (2 eggs) with chopped low fat ham

Snack: None

Lunch: Tin of salmon mixed with cottage cheese and a hard boiled egg mashed in, gooey oat bran yoghurt with sweetener and cinnamon

Snack: 1 light laughing cow cheese wedge

Snack: Meat crisps with cottage cheese as dip

Dinner: Half a fillet of steamed salmon topped with shrimps

Snack: None

Exercise: None

Water: 2l

I think this was a good day on Dukan. I didn’t do any exercise but I’m not worried about that, it as Friday and I treated myself to a night in when I got home from work instead of rushing off to the gym.

Finally getting out of my miserable funk and feeling more positive. A bit worried about weigh in on Tuesday though because if I have a tiny loss (or worse) again I’m worried the misery will return. I just have to keep working hard and eating well to try and make sure that doesn’t happen!

Oh and I promise that once I reach my goal (only 1.5kilos away) I will post some pics so I’m no longer a faceless blogger!

Cruise Day 24 – PV

Food:

Breakfast: Yoghurt mixed with oatbran, cinnamon and sweetener

Snack: Hard boiled egg

Lunch: 1 Chicken breast mixed with yoghurt and moroccan spices, served with celery sticks

Snack: A little bit of shaved ham and turkey

Dinner: 1 Chocolate protein shake, steamed fish served on a bed of leeks sauteed in wholegrain mustard

Snack: A couple of teaspoons of oat bran

Water: 1.5l

Exercise: 55 minute gym workout

I have been so down in the dumps these last few days – the poor weight loss has really got to me. Also my knee is not good so while I’m still managing to exercise at the gym my morning runs are out. But I think I’m being a bit silly to be so disappointed in myself – I’m in a healthy weight range, I’m wearing smaller clothes, I’m exercising, eating well – if someone had told me this time last year I’d be in this situation I’d have told them that would put me on top of the world.  I was 65kg in September last year and with a BMI of 28 I was at the upper end of the ‘overweight’ scale. A few more kilos and I’d have been obese.

I need to try and remind myself of how far I’ve come and stop getting so down on myself about the plateau I seem to be in at the moment. I think one of the hardest things is to stay motivated when things aren’t going well. I’ve had a few moments of ‘I might as well give up, it’s stopped working’ but I know if I maintain the motivation and keep going I should break through this funk and get there eventually. Well, here’s hoping!!

Cruise day 22 – PV

Breakfast: Oat bran porridge mixed with cinnamon and topped with natural yoghurt

Snack: 1 vanilla protein shake

Lunch: Leftover pate and celery sticks  from the Dukan Dinner Party followed by natural yoghurt mixed with oat bran, cinnamon and sweetener, prepared the night before so it goes all gooey (this is officially my favourite food in the world)

Snack: Small tin of weight watchers tuna

Dinner: Chicken breast with moroccan seasoning served with cauliflower (topped with latest batch of homemade quark) and bok choy

Snack: Snacked on little bits of chicken and cottage cheese as I prepared my lunch

Water: 2l+

Exercise: 55 minute pump workout class, 20 minute walk

I really hurt my knee doing the squats in the pump class so now most exercise is out and I don’t know how long it’ll take my knee to recover. Tried to go fo a run but it was too sore, at least I’m managing to walk instead but it doesn’t bode well for a good week.

Finding it very hard to stay motivated at the moment.

Weigh In – 14th September

Oh dear 😦

The Stats

Starting Weight: 57.7kg

Today’s weight: 54.0kg

Weight lost since last weigh in: 0.3kg

Total Weight lost: 3.7kg

Unsurprisingly I’m really disappointed with this week’s 300gm weight loss. And still in the 54s, even a 53.9 would have been nice! I suppose I have to remember that with being so close to goal weight the weight is not going to fall off in huge amounts. And I’ve started doing a bit more weight training to try and tone up my arms for the big day so I suppose there could be some muscle growth there. But I don’t want to make excuses, I ate too much oat bran, too much dairy this week and I’m a shocker for snacking on yoghurt after dinner. I really need to get this under control and hopefully I’ll see a shiny 53 on the scales next week. Aiming for a 500gm weight loss next time. Let’s see how I go. Sigh.

Dukan Dinner Party

As usual the weekend has put my blogging routine out of whack so apologies for not making an appearance these last couple of days.

Last night I hosted my Mum, Grandparents and of course FH for a Dukan Dinner Party. The guests got rice and bread which I didn’t partake of but other than that the whole meal was Dukan approved.

Menu:

To start: Homemade Chicken liver pate posted by Nethe on this forum thread

Serve with meba toast made from homemade bread (for the non-dukaners) and celery

Main: Lemon and thyme chicken legs served with roasted carrots, steamed courgettes and rice for everyone but me

Dessert: Raspberry mousse which unfortunately seperated so ended up as raspberry jelly topped with raspberry mousse. I didn’t say anything and it tasted fine so no harm done!

It was a lovely meal although I probably over-indulged a bit with all the nibbling I did while preparing and then tidying up everything so determined to have a well behaved day today. After all, it’s weigh in tomorrow!

Cruise Day 18 – PV

Wow was I hungry today. From the moment I woke up I had food on my mind and it didn’t disappear until a massive lunch. So I ate a lot today but I’m not too worried, the hunger was genuine, I obviously needed it.

Breakfast: Oat bran porridge with cinnamon

Snack 1: Vanilla protein shake

Snack two: Yoghurt with cinnamon, oat bran and sweetener

Lunch: Capsicum (green pepper), tuna, cottage cheese and boiled egg mashed together served on a salad of mesclun, tomatoes and mushrooms. Followed by several spoonfuls of cottage cheese with salt and pepper stirred through

Snack: None, finally full!!

Dinner: Beef and vegetable stir fry – Veggies were leeks, carrot, celery, ginger, onion, garlic, bok choy and capsicum

Water: 2l (just)

Exercise: 20 minute run, 25 minute pilates workout, 45 minute gym workout

Thanks God it’s Friday. I was so ready for it – been counting down since Monday!! Hoping to do a decent amount of exercise this weekend and try to keep busy so I don’t eat too much. Got a little bit of making up to do and we’re out for dinner tomorrow night so need to take it easy during the day.

Hope all you other dukan dieters have a fabulous weekend! xo
